On the right of the photo can be seen 2 devotees paying their respects to the Guru; his noble and unique deed is remembered with reverence by all Sikhs and many others who recognise the higher level of human behaviour. This shrine is built at the exact location where Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru was martyred on the orders of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb on Wednesday, November 24, 1675 for refusing to convert to Islam.
