இனம் (மாந்த வகைப்பாடு)

இனம் (Race), அல்லது அறிவியல் வகைப்பாட்டில் நிறம், ஒரே போன்ற, அடையாளப்படுத்தக்கூடிய உடற்கூற்றுப் பண்புகளைக் கொண்ட மாந்தக் குழுவினர் ஆவர்.[1][2][3][4][5][6] துவக்கத்தில் பொதுவான மொழியைப் பேசுவோரையும் தேசிய அடையாளங்கள் கொண்டும் வகைபடுத்தப்பட்டது. 18ஆவது நூற்றாண்டிலிருந்து இது உடற்கூற்றுப் (காட்டாக தோற்றவமைப்பு) பண்புகளைக் கொண்டு கட்டமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இச்சொல் பெருஞ்சமயங்களில் உயிரியல் இனத்தைக் குறிக்கவும் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகின்றது.[7] 19ஆவது நூற்றாண்டிலிருந்து மரபணுசார்ந்து வேறுபட்ட தோற்றவமைப்புள்ள மாந்தத் தொகைகளை குறிக்கின்றது.[8][9]

1885-90களில் வரையறுக்கப்பட்ட மூன்று முதன்மை இனங்கள். மங்கோலிய இனத்தின் உட்பிரிவுகள் மஞ்சள் நிறத்திலும் ஓரஞ்சு வண்ணத்திலும் காக்கசீய இனத்தினர் இளம் அல்லது நடுத்தர சாம்பல் கலந்த பச்சை வண்ணத்திலும் நீக்ரோ இனத்தினர் பழுப்பு வண்ணதிலும் காட்டப்பட்டுள்ளன. திராவிடர், சிங்களவர்கள் ஓலிவ் பச்சை வண்ணத்தில் காட்டப்பட்டுள்ளனர்; இவர்களுக்கு வகைப்பாடு வரையறுக்கப்படாதிருந்தது. மங்கோலிய இனத்தினர் புவியில் விரிந்த பரப்பில் பரவலாக உள்ளனர்; இவர்கள் அமெரிக்காக்கள், வடக்கு ஆசியா, கிழக்காசியா, தென்கிழக்காசியா, குடியேறாத ஆர்க்டிக் பகுதிகளில் பரந்துள்ளனர். பெரும்பான்மையோர் நடு ஆசியாவிலும் பசிபிக் தீவுகளிலும் உள்ளனர்.

18-ஆம் நூற்றாண்டில் மானிடவியலில் அறிஞர்கள் மனித இனத்தை நான்காக வகைப்படுத்தப்படுத்தினர். அதில் மஞ்சள் நிறத் தோல் கொண்டவர்களை மங்கோலாய்டுகள் என்றும், வெள்ளை நிறத் தோல் கொண்டவர்களை காகசாய்டுகள் என்றும், கருப்பு நிறத் தோல் கொண்ட நீக்ராய்டுகள் மற்றும் ஆஸ்டிரலாய்டு இனம் என வகைப்படுத்தினர். 19-ஆம் நூற்றாண்டில் மரபியல் அடிப்படையில் அனைத்து மாந்தரும் ஒரே இனத்தவர் எனக்கண்டறிந்தனர். எனலே மனித இனத்தை வகைப்படுத்தி பார்க்கும் போக்கு தற்போது இல்லை.
