அருளாளர் '''சார்லஸ் தெ ஃபூக்கோ''' (15 செப்டம்பர் 1858–1 திசம்பர் 1916) என்பவர் ஒரு பிரென்சு கத்தோலிக்க குருவும் [[துவாரெக் மக்கள்|துவாரெக் மக்களிடையே]] [[அல்சீரியா]]வில் உள்ள [[சகாரா]]வில் வாழ்ந்த ஒரு துறவியும் கத்தோலிக்க திருச்சபையில் [[அருளாளர் பட்டம்]] பெற்றவரும் ஆவார். துவாரெக் மக்களின் பாதுகாப்புக்காக இவரே கட்டிய கோட்டையின் கதவின் வெளியே 1916ஆம் ஆண்டு சுட்டுக்கொல்லப்பட்டார். இவர் [[கத்தோலிக்க திருச்சபை]]யினால் ஒரு [[மறைசாட்சி]] என கருதப்படுகிறார்.<ref>[http://cathnews.acu.edu.au/511/74.php Charles de Foucauld beatified in Rome]</ref>. இவரது எழுத்துக்களே [[இயேசுவின் சிறிய சசோதரர்கள்]] என்னும் துறவறசபையினை நிறுவப்பட வழிவகுத்தது என்பர்.
இவர் இலமையிலேயே பெற்றோரை இழந்தவர். இவரின் தாத்தா இவரை வளர்த்தார். இவர் பிரஞ்சு இராணுவத்தின் ஒரு அதிகாரியாக வட ஆப்பிரிக்காவில் இருக்ந்தபோது இவருக்கு தனிமையில் இறைவனைக்கன வேண்டும் என வலுவான உணர்வுகள் உண்டானது. ஆதலால் இவர் பிரான்சுக்குத் திரும்பிவந்து தனது 28ஆம் வயதில் மனம்மாறினார்.

In 1890 he joined the [[Cistercian]] [[Trappist order]] first in France and then at Akbès in Syria, but left in 1897 to follow an undefined religious vocation in [[நாசரேத்து]]. He began to lead a solitary life of prayer, near a convent of [[Poor Clares]] and it was suggested to him that he be ordained. In 1901 at the age of 43 he was [[ordained]] in [[Viviers]], France and returned to the Sahara in Algeria and lived a virtually [[Hermit|eremetical]] life. He first settled in Beni Abbes, near the Moroccan border, building a small [[Hermitage (religious retreat)|hermitage]] for ‘adoration and hospitality’, which he soon referred to as the ‘Fraternity’.

Later he moved to be with the [[துவாரெக் மக்கள்|Tuareg]] people, in [[Tamanghasset]] in southern Algeria. This region is the central part of the Sahara with the [[Ahaggar Mountains]] (the Hoggar) immediately to the west. Charles used the highest point in the region, the Assekrem, as a place of retreat. Living close to the [[துவாரெக் மக்கள்|Tuareg]], and sharing their life and hardships, he made a ten-year study of their language and cultural traditions. He learned the [[Tuareg languages|language]] and worked on a dictionary and grammar. His dictionary manuscript was published posthumously in 4 volumes and has become known among [[Berber languages|Berberologues]] for its rich and apt descriptions. He formulated the idea of founding a new [[religious institute]], which became a reality only after his death, under the name of the [[Little Brothers of Jesus]]. (See also: [[Louis Massignon]])
On December 1, 1916, he was shot to death outside his [[தாமன்ராசெத்]] compound, by passing marauders connected with the [[Senussi]] Bedouin; this act is to be seen against the general background of the uprising against French colonial power, [[முதல் உலகப் போர்]] and famine in the Hoggar. He was [[அருளாளர் பட்டம்]] by [[திருத்தந்தை பதினாறாம் பெனடிக்ட்|பதினாறாம் பெனடிக்ட்]] on November 13, 2005 and is listed as a martyr in the [[liturgy]] of the Catholic Church.
