1921 ஆம் ஆண்டு தந்தி அலுவலகத்துக்குத் தலைமைப் பொறியாளராக வந்த [[எட்வேர்ட் ஹாப்பர்]] (Edward Harper) என்பவரே இலங்கையில் ஒலிபரப்புச் சேவையைத் தீவிரமாக முன்னெடுத்துச் சென்றவராகும்.

These were exciting times where radio in South Asia was concerned. Many regard Edward Harper as 'the Father of Broadcasting in Ceylon.'
