எலிசபெத் ஜான்சன்: திருத்தங்களுக்கு இடையிலான வேறுபாடு

எழிக்கியேல் குறித்த ஞானத்துக்கான விளக்கம் எனும் முதல் சிறுநூலில் இருந்து அனைத்து இவரது சமயச் சிறுநூல்களும் பெயர் இன்றியே 1781 இல் வெளியிடப்பட்டன. சமய நூலகளைப் பெண்கள் எழுதுவதை திறனாய்வு செய்யாமல் இருக்கவே இவ்வகை ஏற்பாட்டைப் பின்பற்றினார். இவரது சிறுநூல்களைப் பற்றி 1783 இல் ஒரு திறனாய்வாளர் பின்வருமாறு கருத்துரைத்துள்ளார்: "As the intentions of this writer are pious, his facilities evidently disordered, and his lucubrations absolutely unintelligible, these three pamphlets must be exempted from criticism." <ref>{{cite book|editor1-last=Smollett|editor1-first=Tobias George|title=The Critical Review, Annals of Literature LVI|date=1783|pages=394}}</ref> [[William Johnson Cory]] later revealed the true identity of the pamphlets' author in a handwritten inscription on one of the [[Bodleian Library]]'s copies of the ''Ezekiel'' pamphlet: "This strange book was written by my great-grandmother Mrs. Johnson, sister of Sir Joshua Reynolds.
