2007இல் வெளிவந்த மலையாள வெற்றிப்படமான "பிக் பி" இல் மம்மூட்டியுடன் சேர்ந்து நடித்துள்ளார். "கூலி"என்கிற படத்தில் நடித்ததன் மூலமாக கன்னட திரையுலகிற்கு அறிமுகமானார். பின்னர் "கிருஷ்ணார்ஜுனா", "விக்டரி" போன்ற கன்னடப் படங்களில் கதாநாயகியாக நடித்துள்ளார். ஆனால் அப் படங்கள் வெற்றிகரமாக ஒடவில்லை. 2008இல் வெளிவந்த, [[ரஜினிகாந்த்]] நடித்த [[குசேலன்]] தமிழ்த் திரைப்படத்தில் சிறு வேடத்தில் நடித்துள்ளார். அதே ஆண்டில் வெளியான மூன்று தெலுங்குத் திரைப்படங்களிலும் மம்தா நடித்துள்ளார். அதில் [[ஜெ டி சக்ரவர்த்தி]] இயக்கிய "ஹோமம்", ஸ்ரீனு வைட்லா இயக்கிய "கிங்" படங்களும் அடங்கும். இப் படங்களில் பின்னணிப் பாடகியாக பல பாடல்களைப் பாடியுள்ளார்.
