[[இங்கிலாந்து]], [[சுகொட்லாந்து]] மன்னர்களின் ஒன்றுவிட்டு ஒன்றான ஆட்சியின் பின்னர் மாண் தீவு பிரித்தானிய முடியின் [[நிலைவுரிமை]]யின் கீழ் வந்தது. நிலவுரிமை பிரபுத்துவம் 1764 ஆம் ஆண்டு முடியாட்சிக்கு மாற்றப்பட்டாலும் இத்தீவு ஐக்கிய இராச்சியத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாக மாறவில்லை. இதன் காரணமாக இன்றும் இத்தீவு பிரித்தானிய முடியின் சார்பாகவே உள்ளது.
