ஒருமை, பன்மை, என்பவற்றுடன் மூன்றாவதாக இருமை என்பதும், தமிழ் போலவே உயர்தினை அஃறினை என்ற பாகுபாடும், தன்னிலை பன்மையில் தமிழில் உள்ளது போலவே கேட்பவரை உள்ளடக்கிய மற்றும் சேர்க்காத ''நமது-எமது'' வேறுபாடு காட்டுதலும், காலத்தை உணர்த்தும் ஒட்டுக்கள் இருப்பதும் இம்மொழிகளின் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க இயல்புகள் ஆவன. வட இந்தியாவில் பெருவாரியாகப் பேசப்படும் [[இந்திய-ஆரிய மொழிக்குடும்பம்|இந்திய-ஆரிய மொழிக்குடும்ப]] மொழிகளைப் போலன்றி இவற்றின் சொற்களில் மெய்யொலிகள் இடையே உயிரொலிகளின்றித் தொடர்ந்து வருவதில்லை. அவ்வாறு வருதலும் சொல்லின் நடுவில் மட்டுமே ஏற்படுகிறது.
