நடுவமைச்செல்கள் அல்லது நியூட்ரோபில்கள் (Neutrophils) என்று இவை அழைக்கப்படுகின்றது. பெரும்பாலான [[வெள்ளையணு]]க்கள் இவ்வகை சார்ந்தவை (60-70%) இவற்றில் உட்கரு பல வடிவங்களில் அமைந்திருக்கும். எனவே இவற்றிற்குப் பல்லுரு உட்கரு நியூட்ரோபில்கள் (Polymorphonuclear Neutrophils) என்று பெயர்.▼
