அசூர் (Aššur) (அக்காதியம்;'Āšūr; பண்டைய பாரசீகம்: வார்ப்புரு:Script/ஆப்பெழுத்து Aθur, பாரசீக மொழி: آشور‎: Āšūr; எபிரேயம்: אַשּׁוּר:Aššûr, அரபு மொழி: اشور‎: Āšūr, குர்திஷ் மொழி: Asûr), தற்கால ஈராக்கில் இந்நகரை (அரபு மொழியில்) குலாத் செர்கத் (Qal'at Sherqat) என அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.

அசூர் நகரம், மெசொப்பொத்தேமியாவின் பழைய அசிரியப் பேரரசு (கிமு 2025–1750), மத்திய அசிரியப் பேரரசு (கிமு 1365–1050), மற்றும் புது அசிரியப் பேரரசுகளின் (கிமு 911–608) தலைநகரமாக விளங்கியது.

அசூர் நகரத்தின் இடிபாடுகள், தற்கால ஈராக் நாட்டின் சலாடின் ஆளுநரகத்தில், சிர்காத் மாவட்டத்தில் பாயும் டைகிரிஸ் ஆற்றின் மேற்கில் உள்ளது.

அசூர் நகரத்தில், கிமு 2600ம் ஆண்டிலிருந்து,[1][2] கிபி 14ம் நூற்றாண்டின் மத்தி வரை மக்கள் தொடர்ந்து வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருந்தனர். கிபி 14ம் நூற்றாண்டில் அசூர் நகரத்தின் மீது படையெடுத்து வந்த தைமூர் படைகள், இங்கு வாழ்ந்த உள்ளூர் மக்கள் மற்றும் அசிரியக் கிறித்துவர்களைக் கொன்று, அசூர் நகரத்தை இடித்து தள்ளினான்.

2003ல் 27வது 27வது உலக பாரம்பரியக் குழு அமர்வு, இடிபாடுகளுடன் கூடிய அசூர் நகரத்தை, உலகப் பாரம்பரியக் களமாக அறிவித்தது.

பெயர்க் காரணம் தொகு

அசிரிய மக்களின் காவல் தெய்வமான அசூர் எனும் தெய்வத்தின் பெயரால் இந்நகரத்திற்கு அசூர் என்றும், அசிரியர்கள் ஆண்ட தற்கால ஈராக், வடகிழக்கு சிரியா மற்றும் தென்கிழக்கு துருக்கி பகுதிகளுக்கு அசிரியா என்றும் பெயராயிற்று. அசூர் நகர மக்கள் இந்திய-ஐரோப்பிய மொழியின் கிளையான செமிடிக் மொழியான அசிரிய மொழி பேசுபவர்கள்.

முந்தைய வெண்கலக் காலம் தொகு

அசூர் நகர தொல்லியல் ஆராய்ச்சியின் படி, இந்நகரம் வெண்கலக் காலத்திற்கு முன்னர் கிமு 3000 ஆண்டின் நடுப்பகுதியில் நிறுவப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டும் என கருதுகின்றனர்.

அசூர் நகரத்தின் இஷ்தர் கோயில் மற்றும் பழைய அரண்மனையின் அஸ்திவாரங்களை அகழ்வாராய்ச்சியில் தோண்டிய போது தொல்பொருட்கள் கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்டது.

அசிரியர்களுக்கு முன்னர் இந்நகரம், அக்காடியப் பேரரசின் அசிரிய ஆளுநர் கீழ் இருந்தது.[3]

கிமு 21ம் நூற்றாண்டில் அசிரியாவை ஆண்ட மன்னர் உஷ்பியா, தங்கள் காவல் தெய்வமான அசூரை சிறப்பிக்க அசூர் நகரத்தில் முதல் கோயிலை கட்டி அசூர் தெய்வத்திற்கு காணிக்கையாக்கினான்.

பழைய அசிரியப் பேரரசு, மத்திய அசிரியப் பேரரசின் தலைநகராக இருந்த அசூர் நகரம், புது அசிரியப் பேரரசு (கிமு 912–605) ஆட்சியில், அரச குடும்பத்தினர்களின் அரண்மனைகள், அசூர் நகரத்திலிருந்து பிற நினிவே மற்றும் நிம்ருத் போன்ற பிற அசிரிய நகரங்களுக்கு மாற்றினர்.[4]

புது அசிரியப் பேரரசர் இரண்டாம் சர்கோன் ஆட்சியில் (கிமு 722–705), ஆசூரிலிருந்து, அசூர்நசிர்பால் நகரத்திற்கு தங்களின் தலைநகரை மாற்றினர்.[5] இவனுக்கு பின் அரியணை ஏறிய சென்னாசெரிப் (கிமு 705–682), நினிவேவிற்கு தனது தலைநகரை மாற்றினார். இருப்பினும் அசூர் நகரம் பேரரசின் சமயச் சடங்களின் மையமாக விளங்கியது.

கிமு 614ல் மீடியாப் பேரரசுக்கும், அசிரியர்களுக்கும் நடைபெற்றப் அசூர் போரில், அசூர் நகரம் மீடியர்களால் கைப்பற்றப்பட்டது.[6][7]

அகாமனிசியப் பேரரசில் தொகு

மீடியப் பேரரசை வென்ற பாரசீக அகாமனிசியர்கள் (கிமு 549 - 330) அசூர் நகரத்தையும் கைப்பற்றினர்.

பார்த்தியப் பேரரசில் கிமு 150 - கிபி 270 காலகட்டததில், அசூர் நகரம் நிர்வாக மையமாக விளங்கியது.

கிபி 114ல் அசூர் நகரம் உரோமைப் பேரரசின் கீழ் சென்றது.

2003ல் அசூர் நகரம் உலகப் பாரம்பரியக் களங்களில் ஒன்றாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.[8]

2015ல் அசூர் நகரத்தின் இடிபாடுகளை, ஐ எஸ் ஐ எஸ் தீவிரவாதிகள் தங்கள் மறைவிடமாகப் பயன்படுத்திக் கொண்டதுடன், சிதைந்த இந்நகரத்தின் இடிபாடுகளை முற்றிலுமாகச் சிதைத்தனர்.[9]
