குடற்புழுவியல்
குடற்புழுவியல் (Helminthology) என்பது ஒட்டுண்ணி புழுக்கள் பற்றி ஆராயும் அறிவியல் புலமாகும். இப்புலம் ஒட்டுண்ணிப் புழுக்களை வகைபிரித்தல் மற்றும் ஓம்புயிர்கள் மீதான அவற்றின் விளைவுகளையும் ஆய்வு செய்கிறது.
புழு என்ற பொருளைக் குறிக்கும் எல்மின் என்ற சொல்லிலிருந்து குடற்புழு அறிவியல் என்ற சொல் வருவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
18 மற்றும் 19 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டுகளின் ஆரம்பத்தில் குடற்புழு அறிவியல் குறித்த வெளியீடுகளின் அலை வீசியது. இக்காலம் அறிவியலின் பொற்காலம் என்றும் விவரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அந்த காலகட்டத்தில் பெலிக்சு டுயார்டின், [1] வில்லியம் பிளாக்சுலேண்ட் பென்காம், பீட்டர் சைமன் பல்லாசு, மார்கசு எலிசர் பிளொச், ஓட்டோ பிரீட்ரிக் முல்லர், [2] யோகான் கோயசு, பிரீட்ரிக் செங்கர், சார்லசு வார்டெல் சிடைல்சு, கார்ல் அசுமண்ட் ருடால்பி, ஓட்டோ பிரீட்ரிக் பெர்ன்கார்ட்டு வான் லின்சுடோவ் [3] மற்றும் யோகான் கோட்பிரைட்டு பிரெம்சர் போன்றவர்கள் இப்புலம் தொடர்பாக முறையான அறிவியல் ஆய்வுகளைத் தொடங்கினர். சப்பானிய ஒட்டுண்ணி நிபுணர் சத்யு யமகுட்டி என்பவர் 20 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டின் மிகவும் சுறுசுறுப்பாக இயங்கிய குடற்புழு அறிவியல் அறிஞர் ஆவார். இவர் குடற்புழு அறிவியல் தொடர்பான ஆறு தொகுதிகள் கொண்ட நுலை எழுதியுள்ளார். [5][6]
