பெண்மை
பெண்மை (Femininity அல்லது feminity,[1]womanliness அல்லது womanhood ) பெண்களுக்கும் சிறுமியருக்கும் உள்ளதாக வரையறுக்கப்படும் பொதுவான பண்புகள், நடத்தைகள், செயல்பாடுகளின் தொகுப்பாகும். பெண்மை சமூகத்தினால் கட்டமைக்கப்பட்டாலும் சமூகத்தினால் வரையறுக்கப்பட்ட காரணிகளாலும் உயிரியற் காரணிகளாலும் அமைவதாகும்.[2][3][4] இதனால், இது உயிரியற் பெண் பாலின் வரையறையிலிருந்து வேறுபட்டது.[5][6] ஆண்களும் பெண்களும் பெண்மைத் தன்மைக் கொண்டிருக்கலாம்.
வழமையாக தாய்மை, மென்மை, பாசம், கூர் உணர்வு ஆகியன பெண்மையின் தன்மைகளாக கூறப்படுகின்றன .[7][8][9] தமிழர் பண்பாட்டில் அச்சம், நாணம், மடம், பயிர்ப்பு என்பவை பெண்மையின் தன்மைகளாகக் குறிப்பிடப்படுகின்றன. இருப்பினும் பெண்மை இருப்பிடத்தையும் சூழமைவையும் பொறுத்து இவை வேறுபடுகின்றன; இவற்றில் பல்வேறு சமூக, பண்பாட்டுக் காரணிகளும் தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்துகின்றன.[10] சில பண்பாடுகளில் சில கோட்பாடுகளும் அஃறிணைப் பொருட்களும் பெண்மைத்தன்மை கொண்டவையாகக் கருதப்படுகின்றன.[11] பெண்மைக்கு எதிரானத் தன்மையாக ஆண்மை அமைகிறது.
