மர எலி
மர எலி (woodrat) அல்லதுவணிக எலி அடைப்பெலி(pack rat) என்பது வட மெரிக்கா, நடுவண் அமெரிகாவைத் தாயகமாகக் கொண்ட நியோட்டோமா கொறிணிப் பேரினத்தின் இனங்களில் ஒருவகையாகும். இந்தவகை அழகான எலிகள் அடர் காடுகளில் வசிக்கும். உடல் சாம்பல் கலந்த வெள்ளை நிறத்திலும், அடி வயிறு பால் போலத் தெளிவான வெண்மை நிறத்திலும் காணப்படும். உடலை விடச் சுமார் இரண்டு மடங்கு நீளமான வாலைக் கொண்டு இதனை அடையாளப்படுத்தலாம். ஏற்காடு மலைப் பாதையில் ஊர்திகளில் அடிப்பட்டு இறக்கும் எண்ணற்ற அணில்கள் போலவே, இந்த வெள்ளை மர எலிகளும் காட்டுச் சாலைகளில் அடிபட்டு இறக்கின்றன..[1][2]
