{{GEOnet3}} generates an external link to a search page for the GEOnet Names Server (GNS), published by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). It includes the GEOnet Unique Feature Identifier (UFI) in search instructions which are displayed with the link. This template can be used as a replacement for {{GEOnet}}, which generates a direct link that no longer works.

TemplateData for GEOnet3

This template generates an external link to a search page for the GEOnet Names Server (GNS), published by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). It includes the GEOnet Unique Feature Identifier (UFI) in search instructions which are displayed with the link.

Template parameters

Parameter		Description	Type	Status
UFI	1	GEOnet Unique Feature Identifier (UFI), which can be entered at http://geonames.nga.mil/namesgaz/ on the Advanced Search page. Default	Number	required
Name	2	Name or other descriptive text. If not given it defaults to the Wikipedia article name Default {{PAGENAME}}	String	optional
