உரூபி பேய்னி சுக்காட்

உரூபி வயலெட் பேய்னி சுக்காட் (Ruby Violet Payne-Scott), இளம் அறிவியல் (இயற்பியல்) மூதறிவியல், கல்வியியல் பட்டயம் (சிட்னி) (28 மே 1912 – 25 மே 1981) ஓர் ஆத்திரேலிய கதிர் இயற்யலின் முன்னோடியும் முதல் பெண் கதிர் வானியலாளரும் ஆவார்.[1]

இளமை தொகு

இவர் 1912 மே 28 இல் நியூசவுத்வேல்சில் உள்ள கிராப்டனில் பிறந்தார். இவரது தந்தையார் சிரில் பேய்னி சுக்காட்டு ஆவார். இவரது தாயார் நியேல் எனப்பட்ட அமி ஆவார்.[2] இவர் பின்னர் தன் அத்தையுடன் வாழ் சிட்னிக்குச் சென்றர். இவர் பென்ரித் அரசு தொடக்கப் பள்ளியில் 1921 முதல் 1924 வரை பயின்றார்.[3][4] பின்னர் 1925 முதல் 1926 வரை கிளீவ்லாந்து தெரு மகளிர் பள்ளியில் பயின்றார்.[5][6] இவர் சிட்னி மகளிர் உயர்நிலைப்பள்ளியில் தன் பள்ளிக்கல்வியை முடித்தார்.[7] இவர் பள்ளி இறுதிச் சான்றிதழில் இவர் கணிதத்திலும் தாவரவியலிலும் தகைமை பெற்ரமை குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.[8] இவர் சிட்னி பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் முந்நிலை பட்டப் படிப்பு படிக்க இரன்டு கல்விநல்கைகளைப் பெற்றுள்ளார். இவர் அங்கே இயற்பியலும் வேதியியலும் கணிதவியலும் தாவரவியலும் படித்தார்.[9][10] இவர் 1933 இல் இளம் அறிவியல் பட்டம் இயற்பியலில் பெற்றார்; மூதறிவியல் பட்டத்தை இயற்பியலில் 1936 இல் பெற்றார்;[11] இவர் அங்கு மேலும் கல்வியியல் பட்டயமும் 1938 இல் பெற்றார்.
