தேசிய டி. என். ஏ. நாள் (DNA Day) ஒவ்வோர் ஆண்டும் அமெரிக்காவில் ஏப்ரல் மாதம் 25 ஆம் நாளன்று கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. 1953ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜேம்ஸ் வாட்சன், பிரான்சிஸ் கிரிக், மாரிஸ் வில்கின்ஸ், உரோசாலிண்டு பிராங்க்ளின் மற்றும் சகாக்கள் நேச்சர் இதழில் டி. என். ஏ. கட்டமைப்பின் கட்டுரைகளை வெளியிட்ட நாளினை இது நினைவுபடுத்துகிறது.[1][2][3] மேலும், ஏப்ரல் 2003இன் தொடக்கத்தில், மனித மரபணுத்தொகைத் திட்டம் முடிவதற்கு மிக அருகில் இருப்பதாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. மேலும் "மீதமுள்ள சிறிய இடைவெளிகளை நிரப்புவதற்கு மிகவும் பொருட்செலவு அதிகம் ஆகும் எனக் கருதப்பட்டது."[4]
