தலித் வரலாற்று மாதம் என்பது தலித்துகள் அல்லது பட்டியல் சாதியினர் மற்றும் பழங்குடியினர் வரலாற்றில் முக்கியமான நபர்களை நிகழ்வுகளை நினைவு கூரும் நிகழ்வாகும்,ஆண்டுதோறும் கொண்டாடப்பட்டு வருகிறது..[1][2] டாக்டர்.பி.ஆர்.அம்பேத்கர் அவர்களைப் பின்பற்றும் அம்பேத்காரியவாதிகளால் உலகம் முழுவதும் ஏப்ரல் மாதத்தில் கொண்டாடப்பட்டு வருகிறது[3][4]. இந்த மாதத்தில் விவாதங்கள்,[,[5] கதைசொல்லல்,[6] வரலாற்றுத் திட்டங்கள்,[7] ஊடகங்களில் சிறப்பு வெளியீடுகள்,[8] மற்றும் கலைப் படைப்புகள்[9] ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன.[10][11] கனடா மாகாணமான பிரித்தானிய கொலம்பியா ஏப்ரல் மாதத்தினை தலித் வரலாற்று மாதமாக அங்கீகரித்துள்ளது.

அமெரிக்காவில் கொண்டாடப்படும் கருப்பு வரலாற்று மாதத்தினால் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டு,தலித் பெண்கள் இளம் குழு 2013 இல் தலித் வரலாற்று மாதத்தினைத் தொடங்கினர்.[12] சங்கபாலி அருணா தலித், ஆதிவாசியினர், மற்றும் பகுஜன் வரலாறு மற்றும் கலாச்சாரத்தின் ஆவணங்களை உருவாக்குவதற்காக தலித் வரலாற்று மாதத்தைத் தொடங்கினார்.[13][14] சங்கபாலி அருணாவும் தேன்மொழி சௌந்தரராஜனும் சிகாகோவில் நடந்த கலர் ஆஃப் வயலன்ஸ் மாநாட்டில் இதனை ஒரு யோசனையாக முன்வைத்தனர்.[15][16]
