இவ்வாறு இணைய இணைப்பை பகிரும் கணினியானது ஏனைய கணினிகளுக்கு IP முகவரிகளை வழங்குவதோடு, வலையமைப்பில் உள்ள ஏனைய கணினிகள் இணையத்தை அணுகும் போது உள்ளூர் IP முகவரிகளை இணைய இணைப்பை பகிரும் கணினியில் IP முகவரிகளாக மாற்றி இணைய இணைப்பில் உதவுகின்றன.

IP என்பதற்கு தமிழ்ச் சொல்லைக் கையாளலலாம். LAN என்பதற்கு உள்ளூர் வலையமைப்பு என்ற தமிழாக்கம் சரியானதாகத் தோன்றவில்லை.--ரவி 17:21, 4 ஆகஸ்ட் 2006 (UTC)

ரவி குழப்பத்திற்கு எனது தெளிவில்லாத தமிழ்தான் காரணம். Let me explain in English. There are 2 IP Address one is known as the Public IP address and the other one is Private IP Address. Public address are assigned by the ISP (Internet Service Provider) when you are connected to the internet. While you are free to assign Private IP address anything like 10.x.x.x, 169.254.x.x (this is used by the windows Automatic Private IP addressing, 192.168.x.x. where x is between 0-254. When we talk about LAN (Local Area Network) there is no need to assign a public IP address one is way of wasting the Public IP address and also less secure. For these reasons the network generally assigned Private IP address while the one connected to the internet have both Private (LAN Card) and the public IP address (Generally the modem). In this Microsoft ICS(Internet Connection Sharing) always assign the host computer that is connected to the computer IP address as 192.168.0.1 while the clients will get IP address starting like 192.168.0.x . This add addition security as one in the internet cannot get direct access to the private IP address. லினக்ஸில் இணைய இணைப்பைப் பகிர்தல் சேர்க்கப்படவேண்டும்

இணைய இணைப்பைப் பகிர்தல் விண்டோஸ் மற்றும் லினக்ஸ் இயங்குதளங்களில் செய்யலாம். விண்டோஸ் இயங்குதளங்களில் செய்யும் முறை கட்டுரையில் உள்ளது. லினக்ஸில் இதை masquerading என்பார்கள். இணையத்தில் தேடல்களைச் செய்தேன் என்றாலும் இம்முறை தெளிவாக விளங்கவில்லையாதலினால் கட்டுரையில் சேர்க்கவில்லை. பெடோரா லினக்ஸ்ஸில் முயன்றுபார்த்தேன் முடியவில்லை. வேறேவது முறையில் லினக்ஸ்ஸில் செய்யமுடியுமென்றாலும் குறிப்பிடவும். இதையும் சேர்த்தால் கட்டுரை முழுமையடையும். --Umapathy 12:51, 16 நவம்பர் 2006 (UTC)
