Natkeeran, good to see article about sustaible engineering. my work is almost in the field of biosustainability. Sustainability is a word very difficult to precisely define and to translate in many langiages. we can try to come up with better word for sustainability than that of the title of this article. தாங்கு indicates bearing capability which hints that there will be some limit for that at some point of time. It doesnt convey the meaning of sustainability. sustainability is without limits and is like a never ending cycle (like the nitrogen cycle or food cycle in nature)--ரவி 20:05, 13 ஏப்ரல் 2006 (UTC)
Ravi, is there a term that is used in TN media or textbooks. தாங்கு is a term used by Mayooranathan. I could not find or think of a better term. But, I think தாங்கு does imply bearing capability, and probably does not convey sustainability as in the long term. The sad thing is most TN's leading organizations working in this area do not have Tamil version of thier web sites or reports. I wonder how they communicate their message to the public they serve, or do all Tamils in TN know English.
