Mamta debuted in the 2005 [[Cinema of Kerala|Malayalam film]] ''[[Mayookham]]'', directed by [[Hariharan (director)|Hariharan]]. Mamta got engaged to Prajith Padmanabhan, a Bahrain-based businessman on 11 November 2011.
