The Photograph was taken in the year 1927 (roughly) nine decades past. Even when it was taken, the University Photographer was commissioned for several of these portraits and group photographs which were explicitly set in the public domain by the reigning Maharaja then (also the Vice Chancellor of said University). Further, The Website where it is hosted (https://www.srikanta-sastri.org/d-l-narasimhachar/4594532068 archive copy at the Wayback Machine) has ensured the copyright restrictions (or the lack of) before hosting it in public domain. In the country of its origin i.e. India, the photo (by virtue of its original date) has already lapsed into public domain by Constitutional Law.
