"The greatest risks are never the ones you can see and measure, but the ones you can’t see and therefore can never measure. The ones that seem so far outside the boundary of normal probability that you can’t imagine they could happen in your lifetime—even though, of course, they do happen, more often than you care to realize." ― Charles Wheelan

About me

My volunteer account is User:KCVelaga. I have been involved with the Wikimedia movement since 2014, and spent most of my initial years on English Wikipedia, and later on with Wikimedia Commons, a a bit of Wikidata. I actively organize outreach in India, and currently spend majority of my time with Wiki Loves Monuments, Indic MediaWiki Developers User Group and contributing to Wikimedia Commons.

My work

Starting from September 2021, I am working with the Global Data and Insights Team that helps monitor the impact of the work being done across the movement, through ongoing analysis, learning and evaluation support. I previously worked with the Movement Strategy and Governance team focusing on community facilitation in the South Asian region.

Disclaimer: I work for or provide services to the Wikimedia Foundation, and this is the account I try to use for edits or statements I make in that role. However, the Foundation does not vet all my activity, so edits, statements, or other contributions made by this account may not reflect the views of the Foundation.
