I translated this article from english wikipedia. I am not sure what the CE next to the year 1545 means. Is it Christian era or is it just a mistake forgetting to put AD? also, some one can give the tamil transliteration for pice and pie in the article.--ரவி (பேச்சு) 10:39, 15 ஜூலை 2005 (UTC)

• CE stands for Common Era., which is equivalent to AD. Usage of CE has come into being only in recent times. In this system equivalent to BC is BCE, which stands for Before Common Era..

விரிவான விளக்கத்திற்கு நன்றி. இந்த ஆண்டு முறை, தமிழ் பேசுவோரிடம் இன்னும் பிரபலமாகாத நிலையில் இந்த ஆண்டு முறையை பின்பற்றுவது சரியா எனத்தெரியவில்லை. I will replace CE with AD for time being. May be we can come up with an article on CE ( பொது ஆண்டு?)--ரவி (பேச்சு) 11:13, 15 ஜூலை 2005 (UTC)

One small note: AD should be written before the year, like AD 1857. We can come up with Tamil equivalents for the religion-neutral notations that they're now promoting (CE and BCE). -- Sundar ^{\பேச்சு} 12:14, 15 ஜூலை 2005 (UTC)

As I have entered in MOS, an year without any labeling is understood as AD year in popular usage..Only if it is BC, we MUST need to mention .
