சிவகுமார், போதிய ஆய்வு செய்யாமல் எங்கிருந்து எங்கு சென்றது என்று கூறுவது தவறாகும். எனக்குத் தெரிந்தவற்றைக் கூறுகிறேன். முதலில் தமிழில் அம் என்றால் நீர். அம்பரம் என்றால் கடல். அம்பணம் என்றாலும் நீர், கடல். அம்பா என்றால் நீராடல் (அம்பா ஆடல் என்றும் கூறுவர்). அப்பை = கொன்றை (மஞ்சள் நிறப்பூ). ம-ப சில இடங்களில் மருவி வரும். எ.கா: அமரம்=அபரம் = பின் பக்கம் (முதுகு). இதன் தொடர்பாய் அம்பர் என்பது கடலில் கிடைக்கும் பொருள் என்று வந்திருக்க வேண்டும். இவை மரப்பிசினாயினும், பால்ட்டிக் நாடு போன்ற நாடுகளில் கடற்கரையில் கிடைப்பது -இன்றும் கிடைப்பது. இது திமிங்கிலத்தின் உறுப்பில் சுரக்கும் ("Ambergris, a morbid secretion of the liver or intestines of the spermaceti whale") என்றும் கருதப்படுகின்றது. எப்படியாயினும் கடலோடு தொடர்பு கொண்டது. கடல்-படு-திரவியம் என்றே அறியப்படுகின்றது. தமிழ்வழிப் பொருள் தொடர்பு புரிகின்றது. எப்பொழுதிருந்து இச்சொற்கள் தமிழில் ஆளப்படுகின்றன என்பனவற்றையும் பார்த்தல் வேண்டும். இப்பொழுது ஆங்கிலத்துக்கு வருவோம்.

குழப்பம் தொகு
இங்கே கட்டுரையில் உண்மையான அம்பரையும் பிசினம்பரையும் குழப்பிக் கொள்ளப்பட்டிருப்பது தெளிவு. கட்டுரை பிசினம்பர் (amber) என்பதைப் பற்றிக் கூறி அம்பர் (ambergris) தொடர்பான சில விடயங்களும் உள்ளடக்கப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன. அது தவறு. விடயமறியாமல் எழுதும் போது இத்தகைய பிழைகள் நிகழ்கின்றன. நான் ஓர் அம்பர் வணிகன். என்னிடம் இப்போதும் உண்மையான மீனம்பர் கட்டிகள் இருக்கின்றன. மணிக் கற்களும் அம்பரும் அகிலும் எம் தொழிற் பொருட்கள். எனவே, இந்தக் கட்டுரையைத் திருத்துவதும் உண்மையான அம்பர் (ambergris) தொடர்பான கட்டுரையை எழுதுவதும் முக்கியம்.--பாஹிம் (பேச்சு) 02:02, 5 அக்டோபர் 2023 (UTC)
