இசைக் கலைஞர்

உப்பலாப்பு ராஜேஷ் (Uppalapu Rajesh) என்பவர் ஓர் கர்நாடக இசையில் ஒரு இந்திய மாண்டலின் இசைக்கலைஞரும், இசை தயாரிப்பாளரும் மற்றும் இசையமைப்பாளருமாவார்.[5][6][7][8][9]

ஜான் மெக்லாலின் புளோட்டிங் பாயிண்ட் என்ற இசைத்தொகுப்புடன் இவரது பணி 2009 இல் கிராமி விருதினைப் பெற்றது. ஜெர்மனியில் நடைபெற்ற 'மேஜிக் மாண்டலின்' என்ற விழாவில் பங்கேற்ற இளைய பங்கேற்பாளராகவும் இருந்தார்.[10] நியூயார்க் நகரத்தின் லிங்கன் மையத்தில் தனது இசை நிகழ்ச்சிகளை நிகழ்த்தியுள்ளார். மேலும் பிபிசி லைவ், லண்டன், மெல்போர்ன் கச்சேரி அரங்கில், சிட்டே டி லா மியூசிக் , பாரிசு, கிரீஸ்,[11] கனடா,[12] மத்திய கிழக்கு, அமெரிக்கா,[13] மற்றும் ஐரோப்பா போன்ற இடங்களிலும் இசை நிகழ்ச்சிகளையும் வழங்கியுள்ளார்.[14] [15]

இவர் ஜோகன்னஸ்பர்க் பில்ஹார்மோனிக் இசைக்குழு (டொமினிக் டி பியாஸ்ஸாவுடன்), KZN பில்ஹார்மோனிக் இசைக்குழு,[16] ( ஸ்டீபன் தேவஸ்ஸியுடன் ) ஆகிய இடங்கள்ளும் நேரலை நிகழ்ச்சியை நிகழ்த்தியுள்ளார்.[17][18][19][20] 2006 ஆம் ஆண்டில் நியூயார்க்கில் நடைபெற்ற இவரது இசை நிகழ்ச்சி, தி நியூயார்க்கர் என்ற இதழால் ஆண்டின் சிறந்த இசை நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் ஒன்றாக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டது. ஏப்ரல் 2007 இல் இவர் இந்தியக் குடியரசுத் தலைவரால் கௌரவிக்கப்பட்டார்.[21][10][22]

இவர் தனி இசைத்தொகுப்புகளையும் வெளியிட்டுள்ளார். அதாவது - கோரமண்டல் டூயட் (ஏ. கே. பழனிவேலுவுடன்), விக்கு வினாயக்ராமுடன், அமல்கமேஷன், ஸ்பிரிட்ஸ், ஃபாலோயிங் மை ஹார்ட் மற்றும் இன்டூ தி லைட் போன்றவை.[23][24][25] [26] [27]உ. சீனிவாஸ், சாகீர் உசேன், சிவமணி மற்றும் ஜார்ஜ் புரூக்சு ஆகியோருடன் இணைந்து சம்ஜனிதா என்ற இசைத்தொகுப்பை வெளியிட்டுள்ளார். [28] [18] [29] இவர் உஸ்தாத் ஜாகிர் உசைன், உஸ்தாத் சுல்தான் கான், பண்டிட் ஹரிபிரசாத் சௌராசியா, சங்கர் மகாதேவன், ஹரிஹரன், லூயிஸ் பேங்க், ரஞ்சித் பரோத், மைக் மார்சல்ல், சிவமணி மற்றும் பீட் லோக்கெட், கர்ஷ் காலே மற்றும் கிரெக் எல்லிஸ், பிக்ரம் கோஷ், கமல் சப்ரி, நிலாத்ரி குமார் போன்ற பல இசைக் கலைஞர்களுடன் வட மற்றும் தென் இந்தியாவெங்கும் சுற்றுப்பயணங்கள் மற்றும் பதிவுகளில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளார். [30] [31] 2014 ஆம் ஆண்டில் இராஜேஷ், பாடகர் கார்த்திக்குடன் இணைந்து சிருஷ்டி என்ற இசைக்குழுவை உருவாக்கினார். [32]

தனிப்பட்ட வாழ்க்கை தொகு

உ. இராஜேஷ் 1977 மே 17 அன்று ஆந்திராவின் பாலகோலில் உ. எஸ். சத்தியநாராயணன் (தந்தை) மற்றும் காந்தம் (தாய்) ஆகியோரின் இளைய மகனாகப் பிறந்தார். இவர் இந்தியாவில் கர்நாடக பாரம்பரிய இசையில் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க மாண்டலின் இசைக்கலைஞரான மறைந்த உ.சீனிவாசின் தம்பியாவார். [33] [34] [35] [36]

இவரது குழந்தைப் பருவத்தில், இவரது தந்தையும் சகோதரரும் இவருக்கு இசையில் ஆசிரியர்களாக இருந்தனர். இவர் தனது 6 வயதில் மாண்டலினில் கர்நாடக பாரம்பரிய இசையை இசைக்கத் தொடங்கினார். மேலும் தனது முதல் இசை நிகழ்ச்சியை காஞ்சி காமகோட்டி பீடத்தில் சிறீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரசுவதி முன்னிலையில் நிகழ்த்தினார். [18]

இவரும் இவரது சகோதரரும் ஒன்றாக இணைந்து பல இசை நிகழ்ச்சிகளை நடத்தியுள்ளனர். மேலும் இசைத்தொகுப்புகளை ஒன்றாக வெளியிட்டுள்ளனர். [23] [37] [38] [39] [40] இவரது சகோதரர் சீனிவாசின் நினைவாக தமிழ்நாட்டின் சென்னையில் சீனிவாஸ் இன்ஸ்டிடியூட் ஆப் வேர்ல்ட் மியூசிக் என்ற இசைப்பள்ளியை உருவாக்கி அதில் மாணவர்களுக்கு இலவச இசைக் கல்வியை வழங்கி வருகிறார். இசைப் பள்ளியின் இயக்குநர்களில் ஒருவராகவும் இவர் இருக்கிறார்.
