Uploading images
If you are uploading any image that is public domain or GFDL or creative commons licensed, then it makes sense to upload it to commons: (in case you didn't know). That will let any wikipedia use the image seamlessly as if it were in the local wiki and also reduce the load on Tamil wikipedia servers. - Because I experienced myself how difficult it is to find and how long it takes to understand MediaWiki localisation I was searching a method to comunicate and demonstrate. fi:Käyttäjä:Nikerabbit has a test wiki with the next version of MediaWiki. I plan to "mark" the messages that are outdated or new eigther in Category:MediaWiki or Category:Follow me. Work load

suggest tamil terms for bacteria and virus
From the TVU site, I could find two satisfying tamil terms for bacteria and virus.
- Virus (root word meaning: to poison)-அதி நுண்ணுயிர் , நச்சுயிர்
- Bacteria (root word meaning: small stick)- கோலுருக்கிருமி, குச்சில்கள்
I prefer அதி நுண்ணுயிர் since inarguable viruses are the smallest while using the term நச்சுயிர் may not be appropriate since even there are other types of microorganisms which are harmful. but நச்சுயிர் matches with the root word meaning of the word virus.
Regarding bacteria I prefer கோலுருக்கிருமி since it is clearer in conveying the meaning. but with the advancement of science, bacteria in spiral, spherical shape are also discovered. so it may contradict if we translate spherical bacteria as வட்ட வடிவ கோலுருக்கிருமி..There was another word நுண்மங்கள் that was also suggested at TVU but I am not for it..

- I have seen the usage of (அதி) நுண்ணுயிர் used for virus in a Televison program. And somehow the presence of the word கிருமி in கோலுருக்கிருமி makes is more intutive. So I too prefer these two only. - Harikishore 12:11, 10 ஜூன் 2005 (UTC)
At the same time கிருமி gives a meaning that it is harmful while there are lots of useful bacteria too. May be we can coin a word like கோலுரு நுண்ணுயிர் or கோலுரு உயிர்--ரவி (பேச்சு) 13:04, 10 ஜூன் 2005 (UTC)

This is such a great place and I wish that every topic on earth be found here in Tamil wiki, so that lack of English knowledge doesnt prevent Tamilians gathering knowledge about anything and everything. "பொதுவுடமை கட்டுரையை" எப்படி, எங்கு இணைத்தால் பொருத்தமாக அமையும்?
என்னுடைய சில சிறு கட்டுரைகளை/குறிப்புக்களை இணைக்கலாம் என்று இருக்கின்றேன். ஆனால், எங்கு இணைப்பதில் என்பதுதான் பிரச்சினை. உ+ம்: பொதுவுடமை (Communism) பற்றிய எனது சிறிய குறிப்பொன்றை பொருளியலுக்குள்(Economics) தான் வகைப்படுத்த வேண்டும். பொருளியல் ஒரு சமூக விஞ்ஞானம் (Social Science). அப்படி ஒரு பிரிவு தற்போது இல்லை. அறிவியலில் தேடினாலும், பொருளியல் உள்ளடக்கத்தில் இல்லை.

i am just a junior college student studying in singapore. i love tamil so much. hence i am contributing to this good project. i got to know abt tamil wikipedia through the English Version of wikipedia. my aim is to add as many entries as possible to the tamil wikipedia to make it grow fast. the current series of articles i am posting are all kinds of herbs, mostly indian herbs. though the entries are extremely small, i hope that the other members of this wikipedia will edit and enrich these articles through collaborative effort.

உண்மையில், கொஞ்சம் அதிகமாகவே விக்கிபீடியாவில் ஈடுபாடு காட்டுகிறோமா என்று எனக்குத் தோன்றியதால் (wikiholic?), விடுப்பு அறிவித்துவிட்டு விலகி இருந்து விக்கிபீடியா மாற்றங்களை கவனித்து வந்தேன். இடையில் இரண்டு நாட்கள் வெனிஸ் நகருக்கும் சென்று வர முடிந்தது. என்னால் இயன்றவரை விக்கிபீடியாவை மேம்படுத்த உதவுகிறேன். இடையில் கொஞ்ச காலம், மயூர நாதன் புது கட்டுரைகள் எதுவும் எழுதாமல் இருந்து வந்தார். இப்பொழுது அவரிடமிருந்தும் பல புதிய கட்டுரைகள் வருவது கண்டு மகிழுகிறேன்.(வேலைப்பளு குறைவா இல்லை புதுப்பங்களிப்பாளர்களின் வரவு தந்த ஊக்கமா என்று தெரியவில்லை)--ரவி (பேச்சு) 18:02, 29 ஆகஸ்ட் 2005 (UTC)
