இபின் அல் ஹய்தம்

இபின் அல் ஹய்தம் (Ibn al-Haytham) இன்றைய ஈராக்கைச் சேர்ந்த இஸ்லாமிய பொற்காலத்தின் இடைக்கால கணிதவியலாளர், வானியலாளர் மற்றும் இயற்பியலாளர் ஆவார்.[8][9][10][11] "நவீன ஒளியியலின் தந்தை" என்று குறிப்பிடப்படுகிறார்.[12][13][14] இவர் குறிப்பாக ஒளியியல் மற்றும் காட்சி உணர்வின் கொள்கைகளுக்கு குறிப்பிடத்தக்க பங்களிப்பைச் செய்தார். அவரது மிகவும் செல்வாக்கு மிக்க படைப்பு கிதாப் அல்-மனாயிர் ( புக் ஆஃப் ஆப்டிக்ஸ்"), 1011-1021 இல் அரபு மொழியில் எழுதப்பட்டது. இது இலத்தீன் பதிப்பிலும் உள்ளது.[15] ஐசாக் நியூட்டன், யோகான்னசு கெப்லர், கிறித்தியான் ஐகன்சு மற்றும் கலீலியோ கலிலி ஆகியோரால் அறிவியல் புரட்சியின் போது அல்ஹசனின் படைப்புகள் அடிக்கடி மேற்கோள் காட்டப்பட்டன.

பார்வைக் கோட்பாட்டை முதன்முதலில் சரியாக விளக்கிய இவர், பார்வை மூளையில் நிகழ்கிறது என்று வாதிட்டார்.[16] இது அகநிலை மற்றும் தனிப்பட்ட அனுபவத்தால் பாதிக்கப்படும் அவதானிப்புகளை சுட்டிக்காட்டுகிறது.[17] பின்னாளில் பெர்மாவின் கொள்கையாக மாறிய ஒளிவிலகலுக்கு குறைந்த நேரம் என்ற கொள்கையையும் கூறினார்.[18] கருதுகோள்களின் நம்பகத்தன்மையான நடைமுறைகள் அல்லது கணித சான்றுகளின் அடிப்படையில் ஒரு கருதுகோள் நிரூபணம் செய்யப்பட வேண்டும் என்ற கருத்தை முன்வைத்தார்.[19][20] எனவே மறுமலர்ச்சி விஞ்ஞானிகளுக்கு ஐந்து நூற்றாண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னர் அறிவியல் அறிவு வழி முறைகளைப் புரிந்து கொண்டார்.[21][22][23][24] ஒரு பொருளின் மீது ஒரு கணம் ஒளிபட்டு கண்ணை நோக்கித் திரும்பும்போது, அப்பாெருள் நம் பார்வைக்குப் புலப்படுகிறது என்பதை முதலில் விளக்கினார். இதன் காரணமாக, இவர் சில நேரங்களில் உலகின் "முதல் உண்மையான விஞ்ஞானி" என்று விவரிக்கப்படுகிறார்.[14] இவர் மெய்யியல், இறையியல் மற்றும் மருத்துவம் ஆகியவற்றில் எழுதும் ஒரு பல்துறை வல்லுநராகவும் இருந்தார்.
