உலக உணவுப் பரிசு ( ஆங்கிலம்:World Food Prize) என்பது, பன்னாட்டு விருது ஆகும். இது மானுடவளர்ச்சியை முன்னெடுத்துச் செல்ல பாடுபடும் தனிநபர்களுக்கு அளிக்கப்படுகிறது. அம்மானுடவளர்ச்சியானது, உணவின் தரத்தையும், அளவையும், கிடைக்கும் தன்மையையும் கொண்டு அளவிடப்படுகிறது. வேளாண்மை உயிரியல் தொழில்நுட்ப நிறுவனங்கள் இணைந்த புரவலர்களால், இவ்விருது அளிக்கப்படுகிறது.

தோற்றம் தொகு

1985 ஆம் ஆண்டு, நார்மன் போர்லாக் என்ற நோபல் பரிசு பெற்றவரால் இந்த பரிசுத்திட்டம் சிந்தனையாகத் தொடங்கியது.^[1] 1990 ஆம் ஆண்டு, ஜான் ரூவான் (John Ruan ) என்ற மானுடநல (philanthropist)விரும்பியும், தொழில் அதிபரின் பெருமுயற்சியால், வேளாண்நிறுவனங்களுடன் ஒருங்கிணைக்கப் பட்டது.^[2]
